Aeronautical workshop for children
On March 3, 2026, the Aeronautical Museum held a lecture and workshop for children at Dr. Archibald Rice Elementary School. The workshop for children was held for the purpose of promoting military conscription, introducing and educating children on the topic of aviation history, and for the purpose of promoting the Aeronautical Museum and the cultural heritage that the museum inherits. Since the Aeronautical Museum is currently closed to the public due to reconstruction work, the workshop was held in the formal hall of the "Dr. Archibald Rice" Primary School.
The workshop was realized as part of the activities of the Department for Museum Activities of the Aeronautical Museum with the participation of curator pedagogue Manja Tešić, curator Mladen Radovanović and the presence of the head of the Department of senior curator Mirjana Novaković Munišević. In order to promote military conscription, acting sergeant Milica Juzbašić and second lieutenant Filip Bošokvić participated in the workshop in front of the Aeronautical Museum.
In order to provide the best possible education and presentation of content, a digital presentation on the Aeronautical Museum and the history of aviation development was prepared and shown, various museum objects were presented, and for the purpose of greater participation of children and interaction, educational associations were also organized.
The children had the opportunity to learn about general terms in modern aviation, the types of aircraft that exist, the physics of flight, as well as many other important topics related to aviation. Also, as part of the workshop, the children had the opportunity to try on a pilot's helmet and sit in the pilot's seat, thus getting to know the pilot's job more closely. After the workshop, as a sign of gratitude for the activity and demonstrated knowledge, the children were given praise and gifts in the form of promotional museum souvenirs. The workshop was successfully held to the mutual satisfaction of the representatives of the Aeronautical Museum, the children who participated and the representatives of the school that hosted us.
